The scandal about my email server is a great example of how nobody in the news media or the Republican congress knows how to do any work or cares about doing their  jobs. The email system in the state department is a pile of junk – it was worse in 2009. Insecure, slow, difficult to use. That’s why I and Secretary Powell and Secretary Rice before me used private email. Where was the Congressional oversight to try to fix it? Nowhere. Because I like to do my job and solve problems, because when I was in Beijing representing US steel workers or in Germany representing US anti-terrorism efforts, I wanted to be able to have fast communications with my staff. I paid for my own email server at my own expense. The server was checked over by government security experts. See – Republican congressmen – these smart phones can be used for email and work – if you ever showed up to do your job maybe you’d know. What are you now – down to a 1 day work week? Pass a bill repealing Obamacare, yell Benghazi, and call it a day? Get someone to show you how to use phones for email if you can stop downloading porn and sending text messages to your owners long enough. The problems with US state department email are well known – there was a widely reported scandal called WikiLeaks. But maybe it’s too hard for reporters to find because they are so busy reading Republican talking points. If you reporters want, I can show you how to look things up on your smart phones too. It’s very useful. I admit it, I like to get things done. Sue me.

As for the bank speeches: America is a capitalist country. We have private banks. They lend money to our businesses. That’s good.  I am for growth and prosperity.  I don’t want the hundreds of thousands of jobs and all the finance our world leading banking industry brings to the United States to move to London or Hong Kong. We need a lot stronger regulation of finance – something I have proposed in detail for a long time, but there’s nothing wrong with making money. What does Senator Sanders propose ? That we turn over world banking to Chinese and German banks and depend on them? It’s time for our politicians to stop complaining, grand standing  and finger pointing and start proposing real solutions.
